Pleasant GRUBB was born in 1801/2 in Virginia. Pleasant H. Grubb married Martha Reed May 02,1830 in Michigan.   He died on Sep 6 1863.

He was buried in Monroe, Marion County, Iowa (Gifford Cemetery). Martha REED and Pleasant GRUBB had the following children:   Martha (Reed) Grubb was born December 22, 1809 in Ohio. She died June 19, 1889.

Pleasant H. Grubb married Martha Reed May 02,1830 in Michigan.

1. GRUBB, Amanda: Amanda GRUBB was born in Feb 1832 in Michigan. She was a Farmer between 1900 and 1910 in Lavaca Flats, Cherry Co., Nebraska. Amanda seems to have traveled to the Lavaca Flats area with her sister Emily and Emily's husband, John Marshall. According to the 1900 census, she owned her own farm, on which she maintained 72 animals.  She died between 1911 and 1919 in Nebraska. She was buried in Lavaca Cemetery, Lavaca Township, Cherry Co., Nebraska. She is buried adjacent to her sister Emily and Emily's husband, John Marshall. 

2. Catherine GRUBB was born in 1835 in Michigan. She was buried in Monroe, Marion County, Iowa (Gifford Cemetery).

3.Eliza Ann GRUBB (Author's Great Grand Mother.) Was born on Aug 27 1837 in Indiana. She married Eli H. Pendroy. 17  In August of 1850, Eliza Grubb, age 11, was listed in the Census as living with John and Mary Reed (her maternal grandfather and his second wife). She died on May 1 1871 in Marion Co, Iowa. She was buried in Monroe, Marion County, Iowa (Gifford Cemetery).

4. Emily G. GRUBB was born on Jun 25 1840 in Indiana. Married John Marshall. She died on Jan 9 1923 in Lavaca Township, Cherry Co., Nebraska. She was buried in Lavaca Cemetery, Lavaca Township, Cherry Co., Nebraska.

5. Sylvester GRUBB was born in 1843 in Indiana.

6. William Zachary Taylor GRUBB was born on Oct 20 1847 in Marion/Jasper Co., Iowa. He died on Apr 17 1917 in Aitkin, Iowa.

7. Homer GRUBB was born in 1850 in Iowa.

Parents of Pleasant H. Grubb were Andrew Grubb and Martha (Patsy) Tharp.

Both Pleasant and Martha and Catherine are buried in Gifford cemetery.

They are both buried along with daughter Catherine in Gifford Cemetery on the East City limits of Monroe, Iowa. They are buried about 40 feet west of their daughter, Mrs. Eli H. Pendroy or Eliza Ann (Grubb) Pendroy, who died shortly following childbirth at age 37 on May 1, 1871 giving birth to son Willet Pendroy.

In 1826 Pleasant H. Grubb is found in Monroe County Michigan early census index MIS2A519761.

In 1830 census, Pleasant Grubb is found on page 4 of Cass County, Indiana 1830 census number IN560298142.

In 1840 was in Kosciusko County Indiana Census Index on page 24, no Township. Number INS4A1099520.

At the Kalamazoo Land office - Document 16106 - signed 05-01-1839, an entry for Pleasant H. Grubb involving 87 acres of land is listed.

On August 27, 1857 Eli H Pendroy married Eliza Ann Grubb.

Eliza Ann (Grubb) Pendroy was born August 27, 1837 in Indiana. She died May 1, 1871 at age of 34.

Eliza Ann Grubb's  parents were  Pleasant H. and Martha (Reed) Grubb.

She was the 6th of seven children. Pleasant H. Grubb died Sept. 6 1863.

Recently found the 1850 census in Marion County for the Pleasant H. Grubb family showing 12 year old Eliza Ann Grubb who later married Eli H. Pendroy and was author's Great Grandmother.

Pleasant Grubb was then a 46 year old carpenter who came from Virginia. Martha (Reed) Grubb was 41 and came from Ohio.
